Cameroun, Histoire: La prophétie d'avril 56 de Félix Moumié

 CAMEROUN::POINT DE VUE

[VIDEO] Ludacris No More Beef With Big Sean

All  beef doesn't have to end with bottles being thrown at a New York City nightclub. In the case of Ludacris vs. Big Sean (remember that?), the rift has ended.

According to Luda, he and the G.O.O.D Music rapper are officially on good terms.

“We had a show in Australia and we actually got a chance to sit down,” he told MTV News. “We're just gonna keep it positive right now.”

The feud ignited after Drake issued a thinly veiled jab over (allegedly) jacking his flow for the single, “Forever.” Drake said that he got the idea from Sean, angering Luda—who is known for a rap similar style. Sean inserted himself into the drama by going at Luda. “Don't get it wrong I'm not trying to dis Ludacris or nothing. He's a great MC,” he said.
“But even though that that style that got so overused, there was a lot of people who did it great and there was a lot of people who didn't do it so great.”

Luda later dropped “Bada Boom,” attacking the rappers for not giving him proper credit.
It's good to know that beef can end nicely. Check out the video below.

Cypress Hill
playing Sunday July 8 2012 @ Les Ardentes 2012 / Open Air

Cypress Hill's self-titled first album was released in August 1991. The lead single was the double A-side "The Phuncky Feel One"/"How I Could Just Kill A Man" which received heavy airplay on urban and college radio.

The other two singles released from the album were "Hand On The Pump" and "Latin Lingo", the latter of which combined English and Spanish lyrics. The success of these singles led to the album selling two million copies in the US alone.

DJ Muggs, Cypress Hill's producer, subsequently produced House of Pain's first album, then worked on other Soul Assassins projects like Funkdoobiest. The band made their first appearance at Lollapalooza on the side stage in 1992.

Black Sunday, the group's second album, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 in 1993, recording the highest Soundscan for a rap group up until that time.

Also, with their debut still in the charts, they became the first rap group to have 2 albums in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 at the same time.

With "Insane in the Brain" becoming a crossover hit, the album went triple platinum in the U.S. and sold about 3.25 million copies.

Cypress Hill was banned from Saturday Night Live after Muggs smoked a joint on-air and the band trashed their instruments while playing their second single "I Ain't Goin' Out Like That".

The band headlined the "Soul Assassins" tour with House of Pain and Funkdoobiest as support, then performed on a college tour with Rage Against the Machine and Seven Year Bitch.

In 1993, Cypress Hill also had two tracks on the Judgment Night soundtrack, teamed up with Pearl Jam and Sonic Youth.

50 Cent
playing Saturday july 7 2012 @ Les Ardendetes
/ Open Air

Born in the South Jamaica section of Queens, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson has lived in New York City all his life. Raised by his grandparents after his father ran out and his mother was shot when he was only eight. Growing up, the Queens rapper originally wanted to be a heavyweight boxer, but eventually fell back on rapping.

DJs had taken it upon themselves to release two Best of 50 Cent mix CDs, before he had even signed to a major label.

50 Cent hit the scene with "How To Rob An Industry Nigga" and he's been on a rampage ever since dealing with bootleggers, label back stabbing and other platinum selling artists trying to get at him physically. In 1999 his album Power of the Dollar, was heavily bootlegged and Trackmasters/Columbia never released it.

Supposedly, Trackmasters weren't comfortable with him being caught up in the streets and getting shot three days before filming the video for "Thug Love," (with Destiny's Child) -- his first single.

50 was shot three times that night, two shots hitting him in the head, the bullet that struck his face he carries as a reminder of what happened.

That event led to the fall out with Columbia and negotiating his release from their grasps.

Tiken Jah Fakoly
Playing Sunday july 15 2012 @ dour festival 2012

Following in the footsteps of his musical mentor, Alpha Blondy,Tiken Jah Fakoly has established himself as one of the figureheads of the new reggae scene in Africa. Fusing hisinfectious reggae beat with hard-hitting lyrics, Fakoly has become a spokesperson for an entire generation of music fans, speaking out on political and social issues through his songs.

His huge success in France, where he has sold over 100,000 albums has propelled him to currently be the Best selling African Reggae artist. Born, Doumbia Moussa Fakoly, in a village in the north-west of Ivory Coast on 23 June 1968.

The Fakoly family belong to the griot caste. The African griots are the storytellers/musicians who guard the oral tradition of their people, their region and the most important families living there, recounting stories and legends through their music.

As a young boy, Tiken developed a passionate interest in music, but he did not actually put his passion into practice until after the death of his father.

Tiken's music soon crossed national borders and spread to Europe and it was not long before he started making a name for himself in the 'world' music capital, Paris.

Dilated Peoples live at Dour Festival 2012

Dilated Peoples
playing Saturday 14 july 2012 @ Dour Festival 2012

As hip-hop culture (DJing, MCing, b-boying, graffiti art and beatboxing) evolved in the late 1970s and early 1980s, two things were hallmarks of the movement: DJing and lyrical excellence.

In the last several years, no rap group has done more to champion those elements than Dilated Peoples.

The Los Angeles based trio of Rakaa, Evidence and DJ Babu inject their music with humor, insight and social commentary, and DJ Babu's cuts add an additional layer of excitement and complexity to the group's material.

The trio's first three albums - 2000's The Platform, 2001's Expansion Team and 2004's Neighborhood Watch - are hailed as exemplary examples of quality hip-hop.

So after enjoying the biggest radio and television exposure of its career with the 2004 hit "This Way," produced by and featuring Kanye West, Dilated Peoples wanted to make a point that they had a clear vision for their music, hence the 20/20 title for their new album.

"We've done a lot of experimentation, worked with a lot of different people and tried a lot of different things," Rakaa explains. "With this record, we wanted to really get back to a real, uncut pure vision and get back to the pure, boom-bap sound that really made us all get together as people and want to make music together."

Nas
playing @ couleur café this FRIDAY • UNIVERS • 19:30 - 20:45

To present a living legend like Nas properly, you have to start at the beginning. Nasir Jones grew up in Brooklyn, New York. His father, Olu Dara, a jazz musician who played with Art Blakey amongst others, got him hooked on music at a young age.

When he heard his next door neighbour scratching vinyl records, he fell in love with the first big hip hop stars like Rakim, Eric B. and Marley Marl.

This laid the foundations for the career of one of the most talented rappers of all time. Ever since his first album Illmatic in 1994, which many consider to be the greatest 40 minutes in rap history, Nas has been recognized for his raw and poetic texts that skillfully describe the world around him.

These rhymes are accompanied by powerful and catchy beats. Illmatic and the next 7 albums have all gone platinum. But more important than album sales and his quarrels with Jay-Z is the fact that Nas has never lost his convictions.

At 39, he’s still a hip hop artist through-and-through.

Just ask any of the lucky people who saw his triumphant performance at Tour & Taxis two years ago with another legendary figure, Damian Marley.

This time Nas wil come accompanied by a full live band.

Another great concert to look forward to.

Erykah Badu

TITAN • 23:45 - 01:00

This ravishing turbaned songstress debuted in '97 with the classy album Baduizm. A milestone in R&B that parted with the American influence and returned to the jazz roots.

Even though she grew up to hip-hop and soul, it's still Isaac Hayes and Billie Holiday who recur as references for her voluptuous signing. Her latest album New Amerykah Part Two: Return Of The Ankh is at the same time a return to her roots with subtle soul, experimental hiphop, expressive songs and fantastic vocals.

The passionate and creative Badu is back with a vengeance and, indeed, at Couleur Café. This soul queen is a true must see.

Quincy Jones Criticizes Diddy For Lack Of Musical Knowledge

Quincy Jones says Diddy "couldn't recognize a b flat if it hit him."

Though Diddy has undeniably made his mark in Hip Hop, it appears that one legendary producer remains unimpressed.

Quincy Jones, perhaps best known for his classic work on Michael Jackson's albums Off the Wall, Thriller, and Bad, recently had some choice words for the Bad Boy founder at the Spotify Stories Behind the Music event at the Andaz Hotel in Hollywood, California.

Jones spoke with event host Bruno Mars, opining that DIddy "couldn't recognize a b flat if it hit him.

Jones continued, explaining that Diddy's aptitude is in business, not in music.
"P. Diddy has a doctorate in marketing, he's got clothes companies, and Ciroc vodka."

The famed producer also recalled his storied career, which included work with Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie, and many others.
"People bought music before they bought clothes or shoes," said Jones of earlier times.

K-Ci and Jojo Perform at Fresh Music Festival, Singer Falls Offstage - Video

Crooners K-Ci and Jojo are currently on tour as part of the Fresh Music Festival, alongside singers Keith Sweat and SWV. The duo, known for their late '90s hits "All My Life" and their Tupac Shakur collaboration "How Do U Want It," took the stage in Charleston, S.C., on June 16 and they experienced a disaster within the first few seconds of grabbing the mic.

The R&B team walked out to a full band and hummed through some notes, warming up the crowd for their soulful set. Unfortunately, while K-Ci and Jojo stood on top of a raised platform, the descent of one was less than pleasant.

Jojo walked down the platform and missed his step, falling hard, which caused women in the audience to shriek at the sight.

K-Ci was unaware of his fellow singer's dilemma and continued walking down his own set of stairs with ease. After looking back over his shoulder, he finally realized Jojo was nowhere to be found. But he soon reappeared and seemed to be in good spirits, laughing off his blunder.

Witness Jojo's misstep at the 30-second mark below.

50 Cent Speaks On Chief Keef, Says Diddy's Dirty Money LP Was "Garbage"

In an interview, 50 Cent compliments Chief Keef's "energy" while also saying Diddy's last album was garbage.

In a recent interview, 50 Cent spoke with Power 92 to discuss a variety of topics including his take on Chief Keef. Giving props to the young rapper, 50 acknowledged that he has heard music that has a "hard edge."

He also had less than kind words for Diddy. Fif noted that Diddy became Rick Ross' "buddy" only because his last album as Dirty Money "was garbage."

"He got that kind of energy," 50 told the station regarding Chief Keef's music. "He feels street.
The things that I've heard from him had a hard edge to it. It might be cool [to work with him]."

He was then asked about his beefs. On Ja Rule, he mentioned that he has no desire to mend ties.
"Nah," he said of making peace.
Later in the interview, 50 noted that he feels Diddy's relationship with Rick Ross is only due to the fact that his last album "was garbage." .

"That Last Train in Paris project sent Puff to be Rick's buddy because that shit was garbage. It's the truth."
He also opened up about his former G-Unit allies who are now no longer with his crew.

"I've spent the last five years going, 'What's the matter with them?' I haven't spoken to anyone."
Fans can expect 50's next album to feature beats from Havoc, Dr. Dre and others.

Jimmy "Henchman" Rosemond Confesses To His Involvement In The Quad Studios Tupac Shooting

During a "Queen For A Day" proffer session last year Jimmy Rosemond confessed to his involvement in the 1994 shooting at Quad Studios.

Although there has been much chatter about James "Jimmy Henchman" Rosemond’s involvement in the 1994 ambush at New York City’s Quad Studios that left rapper Tupac Shakur shot five times, up until now there has been no direct evidence linking him to the crime.

But an official transcript obtained by The Village Voice (via HHW), Rosemond’s drug trial includes statements made by a U.S. prosecutor who refers to Rosemond admitting to his involvement in the 1994 shooting.

“Now, in particular, there are some statements where the defendant [Rosemond] spoke about acts of violence…Mr. Shargel made comments about the origin of the Chuck Phillips article, which has to do with the shooting of Tupac Shakur in 1994; in particular, the defendant has made admission that he was involved in this particular shooting,” said prosecutor Soumya Dayananda in a sidebar testimony according to official transcripts.

Rosemond admitted to his part in the shooting during a “Queen For A Day” proffer session with the government last year. Rosemond’s confession allegedly came shortly after Dexter Isaac came forward as the ringleader of the attack.

Rosemond’s drug trial which began last month stems from his involvement in a drug ring involving millions of dollar’s worth of cocaine.

Mary J. Blige Is Ready To Rock

Mary J. Blige has been a music icon for the last two decades and is considered, by many, one of the best ever. Over the last 20 years it seems like we have seen Mary do it all. She has shared the stage with Elton John in Madison Square Garden, performed at the Superbowl halftime show with Aerosmith, and that’s before you mention 9 Grammys and 29 nominations. Mary has proven to be more than just an R&B singer – and is ready to prove herself again on a different stage, the big screen.

Co-starring with Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Juliane Hough (just to name a few) in the theatrical rendition of the Broadway smash Rock of Ages. I recently had the great experience of sitting down with the Mary J Blige to discuss her role, contribution to the film’s soundtrack, and future endeavors.
Mary is a fan of Rock music and has been for quite some time.

When asked about this love affair with rock Mary stated, “well I sort of grew up listening to it, as well as R&B and Hip-Hop. I got exposed to the heavy metals through MTV - Van Halen, Led Zepplin, and Journey”.

Mary also went on to say that she grew up listening to Rock because radio stations were not heavily playing R&B and Hip-Hop like they are today.

So it’s no wonder why she leaves such an imprint on the Rock of Ages soundtrack. Mary provides a huge contribution appearing on six tracks. She adds flavor to classic rock hits including Any Way You Want It and Here I Go Again like only Mary can deliver. The entire soundtrack is truly unique and features 20 remakes of Rock’s most memorable classics.

Mary J is ready to own her new path, becoming the best actress she can be. She explained she has a new dedication, focus, and spends time studying the craft. In Rock of Ages Mary plays Justice Charlier, owner of a gentleman’s club. Part of her preparation included (you guessed it) visits to strip clubs! When asked about her strip club adventures Mary laughed, “You know it was fun. It was actually fun because the women there are so sweet and nice…. and they knew exactly who I was so I got bombarded and stampeded.

They didn’t want to dance, they just wanted to talk”. Fans will see a “looser more fun side” and she points out “the costumes alone say, Mary’s having fun”. It was clear Mary J had a blast shooting this movie but she doesn’t see her acting stopping on the big screen.

When asked about the possibility of Broadway she replied “of course!” This is exciting news because after over 20 years, the world still can’t get enough Mary.

Bring on the drama!
Rock of Ages in theatres June 15th but the soundtrack is available now!

N.O.R.E. Discusses Busta Rhymes' Involvement In "S.U.P.E.R.T.H.U.G." Album

N.O.R.E. speaks on Busta Rhymes' role in his upcoming album.

As N.O.R.E. looks forward to releasing his next solo album, S.U.P.E.R.T.H.U.G., the veteran emcee has enlisted the help of a fellow New Yorker from his era: Busta Rhymes.

In a recent interview with MTV's "RapFix Live," N.O.R.E. explained how Busta has played a role in the project.

"He's been the person, when I was away and wasn't around, who would call me and say, 'Yo I don't hear no records on the streets, son,' " said N.O.R.E. of the Brooklyn emcee. "He's my peer and he's also a fan, but he wants to see me win. So why do anything separate?"
N.O.R.E. clarified that Busta's involvement did not mean he was signed to Busta's Conglomerate record label. "I've been down too long to be anybody's artist. So it's a partnership, Militainment and Conglomerate as partners for the S.U.P.E.R.T.H.U.G. album."

N.O.R.E. also addressed the possibility of a Capone-n-Norega reunion with Capone. "We're straight, we're brothers," he explained. "As far as recording, I don't know yet."
"He has to love his job just as much as me, and I'm not judging him, but the thing is I actually love this."

However, during the pre-show festivities, Peter Rosenberg made a coment regarding the rapper/Pop singer's "Starships" single that angered Lil Wayne enough to subsequently pull out all YMCMB acts from the show. Except for Tyga; wonder what the story behind that is.

After getting an amazing reception at HOT 97′s Summer Jam, Ma$e showed that he still has what it takes to rock a crowd, and the fans showed that they still love the kid.

Keeping the momentum of a comeback going strong, Ma$e announced today that he had just received a “G.O.O.D. offer.” Check out his tweet below:

Ma$e’s tweet implies that Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music label is recruiting the former Bad Boy artist, and from the looks of the tweet, Ma$e was impressed with the offer. Kanye West has never been shy when speaking about Ma$e’s influence on him as an artist, even being quoted as saying that Ma$e was his favorite rapper.

Pusha T Won’t Speak About Beef? Stays Silent On ”Exodus 23:1” Issue

Pusha T’s “Exodus 23:1″ may have kick-started a firestorm online and fueled fan interest in a supposed beef between his G.O.O.D. Music crew and Lil Wayne’s YMCMB family, but the rapper himself isn’t talking about it. Pusha has never officially stated that his song is a diss aimed at Young Money, but the angry reactions from

Lil Wayne and Drake indicate that that’s how Weezy’s crew interpreted it.
Nonetheless, when Pusha T was asked by SOHH about the track at Summer Jam this weekend; he reportedly shrugged dismissively and walked away without speaking about the controversy.

Fellow G.O.O.D. Music star Big Sean also recently avoided acknowledging the beef.
Thoughts?

Lil Kim Goes in on Nicki Minaj on Twitter

Lil Kim added fuel to the fire in her feud with Nicki Minaj, as she went in on the YMCMB femcee for allegedly swagger jacking her again.
Kim recently linked back up with Missy Elliott and Eve, sparking rumors of a “Ladies Night” tour, but many Kim fans felt that Nicki was stepping on her heels by planning to bring out Azealia Banks & Foxy Brown during her Hot 97 Summer Jam set. Although Nicki announced that she was no longer performing at the festival after Peter Rosenberg dissed her, Kim spoke her mind to her fans.

“Hot damn ho here we go again. Monkey see monkey do. I heard the haters are joining forces against the Queen. LMAO !!!! Have a great show!!! Break a leg!!!! Hahahaha!!!! My love for the female hip hop movement has always been genuine. All the females I’ve been bringing out recently I have love for. If u see anybody else doing it … Its not genuine …Know it’s only to copy and compete with me.”
