2 Billion Fake Views Deleted On YouTube

YouTube recently stripped three major record companies of more than 2 billion fake views on their videos.

It looks like three major record companies - Universal Music Group, Sony/BMG and RCA Records - are in hot water with YouTube.

According to The Daily Dot, the popular Internet video provider has stripped the three music groups of more than 2 billion falsified video views.

Last week, YouTube's parent company Google retracted upwards of 2 billion views from videos published by UMG, Sony/BMG and RCA. These views are believed to be the product of "black hat" view count-building techniques, in which third-party companies inflate the total view tallies as a means to manipulate a video's popularity and its increase exposure on YouTube.

The biggest offender of the three record houses was Universal Music Group, who was stripped of over a billion views out of its total 7 billion hits. Sony/BMG and RCA were hardly spared either, with the two companies losing 850 million and 159 million views, respectively.

Yet these lost views aren't the only punitive measures that Google has taken against the three companies. All but five of UMG's published videos have been deleted from its channel, while the number of videos on Sony's channel has been pared down to three.

Google's crackdown on these black hat views has affected more than 500 different official artist channels, including channels for Chris Brown, Beyoncé, Michael Jackson and many more.

UMG is the first of the three companies to acknowledge its dip in views, and cited its shift to publishing videos on VEVO as the reason why its YouTube channel had been downsized.

This past March, Ice Cube revealed that a fourth sequel in his Friday film series is in the works. Now, in a recent interview with 2DopeBoyz and The Well Versed, the N.W.A. legend gives an update on the film project.

Although Cube said that the film, dubbed Last Friday, is definitely still in the works, fans can expect to hear his new album Everythang's Corrupt before the film goes into production. Cube also discussed his next solo LP, saying that he's approaching it with a desire to have fun before everything else.

"Yeah, [Last Friday is] coming," he said. "We're marinating on it, putting it together…probably my next album [Everythang's Corrupt] will be done quicker than the Friday movie. We just turned in the script, so it's going to take a couple of more months to put it together."

He added, "[My goal with this album is to] have fun, go in there, look forward to the next song being better than the song you just did. To me, there's no pressure at this point . it's all gravy, and it's all fun."

RZA Sued Over Unpaid Royalties

A Dutch singer has sued RZA for failing to pay royalties on work they did together from 2004 to 2011.

According to TMZ, Thea Van Siejaen sang vocals on RZA's "Baby Boy," featured in the Jet Li film Unleashed. Siejaen, who also co-wrote with RZA and sang on 13 other songs, says she was only paid a fraction of the royalties that she's owed.

The songstress claims that she was afraid to ask RZA for the money because she feared that he would blackball her from the industry, but is now demanding royalties for the 14 tracks.

A source close to RZA says, "Unfortunately this is a groundless lawsuit by someone RZA had helped get off the streets, lent a helping hand to, and now thinks he’s an easy target to mark looking for money."

Gangster Disciple - Dirt Responds to Rick Ross

Rap prodigy and vocal advocate for the Gangster Disciple Nation DIRT has released a rebuttal to the controversy surrounding rapper Rick Ross and the cancellation of his God Forgives, I Don’t Tour. A longtime member of the Gangster Disciple Nation, DIRT is the voice in the music world to get the message loud and clear to Rick Ross—“Make good on your promises to our brotherhood and keep your rap career alive.”

With a new single Six, it is clear to see the blatant disrespect to the Gangster Disciple Nation with references of the Nation’s leader, Larry Hoover and the use of the Star of David on the cover of The Black Bar Mitzvah will no longer be tolerated.

Not only an avid storyteller with slick rhymes and a fierce flow, but an advocate for bringing the Southern Hip-Hop Movement even further along in the Music World, DIRT is a name to remember.

A devout affiliation with the Gangster Disciples has grounded DIRT with the stamina, loyalty and perseverance to conquer anything he places his mind to. Today he releases his explosive new single Six as an answer to the mockery of the Gangster Disciple Nation Rick Ross has been making.

“I do not condone any violence, in fact I believe the matter can be handled, if he (Rick Ross) makes good on fiduciary arrangements that were to be handled a while back. But enough is enough with the blatant disrespect on my Nation and Larry Hoover.
I’m here as the voice to the voiceless, my brothers and sisters and we will no longer tolerate the foolery of Ross.” Dirt says.

DIRT dispels any alleged death threats that have been referenced, but does stand 100% by the fact Ross needs to own up to promises he has yet to make good on for the public use of the Gangster Disciple Nation to push singles, records and concerts.
“This matter has nothing to do with the other members of Maybach Music Group in any way, but a straight violation on Ross’ behalf of agreements that have been previously made.” DIRT explains.

The new single Six is an explosive track that lyrically and musically explains the situation.
With a video coming soon, it is only hopefully that Ross’ clears this matter up and everyone can come to terms. “I do not engage in “rap beefs”, but I will stand up for what I believe in no matter what, in this case it is my family, the great Gangster Disciple Nation!”-DIRT

Ma$e No Longer Working With Bad Boy

Many may believe that Diddy and Ma$e ended their ties long ago but, as Ma$e explained, he was just recently allowed to walk away from Bad Boy after 16 years.

Ma$e also made it known that he will likely not sign with another label soon, likening this ordeal to a break up in a relationship.
“I’ve been in that contract for 16 years," he explained. "Yeah, the other day he let me out of it, so big shout-outs to Diddy.

I guess he woke up feeling good and he wanted to do something good.”

Ma$e also expressed his hesitation to rejoin a major label.
“At this point, I don’t really want to be under nobody from the aspect of being tied in a long, long contract,” he added. “It’s kinda like breaking up; you don’t want to jump into a new relationship.”

Ma$e went on to acknowledge positive things about Diddy, even saying he'd "want to go to war with Puff." However, he also said Diddy blocked his move to G-Unit years ago because he wanted too much money.

"You know how Puff is," Ma$e explained. "I love him but you gon' cut your arm off to get free."

The autopsy report for the late Notorious B.I.G. has been revealed.

The autoposy report for Notorious B.I.G., aka Christopher Wallace, has been revealed more than a decade after his passing in 1997.

The fourth bullet was fatal, entering through his right hip and striking several vital organs, before stopping in his left shoulder area.

Will T.I Gets The Presidential Pardon For His Legal Issues!

Even though it looks like he's all but buried his prior legal issues, T.I.'s career has still been affected by his back-to-back prison sentences.
Now, in a recent interview with Peter Bailey's "NiteCap," Tip reflects on that time and how Will Smith offered to help him.

T.I. recalled that famed actor and emcee Will Smith offered to reach out to President Barack Obama to give T.I. a pardon following his probation violation case.
Although Tip ended up serving his time, he said that he was moved by Smith's offer of service.

"I didn't reach out to [Will Smith for a Presidential pardon]; we were just in conversation just speaking," he recalled. "We got the same birthday, and everyday on our birthday we speak on the phone just to say, 'What's up, how're you doing, what's going on?' That year on our birthday, I was just going through that [probation] situation, so when he had me [on the phone], I was like, 'Dude, it's tight right now.'

His first thing was, 'How can I help?' and I said, 'Bruh, it's got to come from the top.' He was like, 'Oh yeah? I can reach up there [to the President].' I was like, 'Man, I don't even know.

Don't put yourself out the way - it's a long shot'…at that point, he connected with my attorneys and took a shot."

Rolling Stone is dropping a four for one Hip-Hop special with its latest cover. The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, Eminem and Jay-Z will grace the front of the Rock magazine, with the issue including a special 50 Greatest Hip-Hop Songs of All-Time feature.

"The greatest hip-hop songs have the power to pull energy and excitement and anger and questions and self-doubt and raw emotion out of you. It could be a song that sets your neighborhood on fire ("Rebel Without a Pause") or a song on your headphones that makes you rethink what hip-hop is (Ultramagnetic MCs' "Ego Trippin' "). The common thread is change.

The best hip-hop songs aren't blueprints – they are calls to action, reminders that you can start a revolution in three minutes.

True indeed. Who is number one? The homies at Hip-Hop DX already dropped dime and it's "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five.

It's tough to argue with that one. But let the debates begin.
