Blog Feature: Hip-hop/Rap artist Dopekiid from the city of Ottawa Ontario got down to talk about his music (INTERVIEW).

Finally get to talk with Dopekiid a very talented up and coming artist in the music industry.

We really appreciate this moment you gave us to talk to you and let the world know exactly who is Dopekiid and what your music is all about.

Since Hip Hop music became a reference to a lot of people, we are really sure that they want to know more about you.

Tell us about you:
I go by the name Dopekiid and I represent the city of Ottawa in Ontario Canada .

I’m 21 years old and been rapping since the age of 16. In my teen years I had a few bumps in the road but music saved  my life, it kept me on the right path, helped me get through the hard times and made me the man I am today.

When did you start making music:

I stared writing music at 16, just working and perfecting my rhymes and flow. When I was 19 I started recording professionally and collaborating with other artists.

Who is your role model in the music world

A few people I would consider role models in the Industry are J Cole, Jay Z & 50 Cent. Jay z & 50 Cent are business minded and have mastered monetization within Hip Hop. I also admire their longevity and ability to keep reinventing themselves in a genre where fans are quick to hop on the newest trends. I look at J Cole as a leader because he stays true to himself and his craft. His ability to write conscious songs is definitely a skill I try to emulate at times.

Is there anything you would do differently in your career

One thing I would have done differently would have been to start my music career at a earlier age. It took me awhile to truly focus myself and take my craft seriously.

Who would you want to do a tour/concert with:

I would definitely be down to do tours and concerts with J Cole, Dizzy Wright & Logic. I would love to perform with these artists because of the vibe I feel when I listen to their music. All three are amazing entertainers and crazy lyricists at the same time!

Do you ever get lost in the music:

When I wrote my song "Revenge Of The Dreamers," I had asked God to musically bless me before writing. As I wrote I felt my mind opening up and I was really able to get into it and lose myself.

Pras Is Living It Up While His Son Sleep “Shoebox”

Pras has been out living life to the fullest, while his son has to sleep in a “shoebox,” according to the child’s mother.

Angela Severiano testified in court Thursday (July 24) about the financial strain that forced her into a 250-square foot studio apartment.

Serviano sleeps in the living room area, and their son, Landon, sleeps in a makeshift bedroom.

”This isn’t about Pras,” she said outside of court. It’s about my son who lives in a shoebox.”

Pras had skipped four previous court hearings, partly because he was headed to Brazil for the World Cup . He tried to phone in his testimony during a layover in Columbia but the judge didn’t approve.

He will take the stand in September to argue why his child support payments shouldn’t be increased from $3,000 to $7,000 a month, to allow Serviano to move to a bigger place.  He made over a $1 million last year, court documents state.

The 41-year-old wasn’t  exactly beaming about being in court. The New York Post claims that his only words were “get to the f*ck out of my face” — and that was to a reporter.

There could be another side to this story, or maybe he has jet lag. Kicking back on a yacht and taking selfies with Leonardo DiCaprio is probably pretty tiring.

In January 2012 Drupy was named as one of Nashville’s Hottest of 2011 being featured on Concrete Magazine’s/ IUM project by the same name and appearing at the Bonnaroo Music Festival. Soon after he followed the accomplishment with the announcement of the album Fli Musik 2: Pop World produced by Kyle Lampi (Enjoy the Zoo), Ducko McFli (Trinidad James), SykSynse (Wale, Meek Mill, DJ Drama, Drake) and Boy Genius (Chancellor Warhol). The album release show was held at legendary Mercy Lounge, headlined by the artist himself and featured Nashville’s hottest MC Chancellor Warhol and pop-upstart Beta Pop among others.

He also headlined the popular Nashville event, Y2K, twice, over popular acts Case and Coach and Treekeeper (EDM). He formed the band Purple Noon w/ Wild Minds and former Pink Spyders drummer Bob Ferrari and performed on the Hard Rock Café associated international internet TV show, Balcony TV.

The producers of that show invited Drupy to meet producers Sean Giovonni and Peter Keys (Keyboardist/producer for Rock Hall of Fame legendary southern band Lynyrd Skynyrd) in the stdio. After hearing the album the producers signed on to executive produce Drupy’s follow-upfull-length project, FM3: The End of Dayz, scheduled for a fall 2013 release.

Always staying busy, Drupy was booked as a performer at this year’s Industry Mixer/Showcase held by Concrete Magazine and featured top rap DJ, DJ Smallz. Smallz signed onto host the new mixtape project and hit he studio to preview upcoming tracks off the record. In 2013 Drupy expanded the Fli Musik Group label by adding in-house DJ and A&R, DJ Cevan and legend in the making female MC, Tanya Ali. Drupy received an MTV profile and will have all video content supported by the network independently, while simultaneously brokering a sponsorship deal with performance right org, SESAC to headline the artist first national tour. The seven city college tour called The Fli Gang tour will feature supporting acts like Tanya Ali, Fyutch and Kaby as well as other up-and-coming acts. This year Drupy Fli Musik received two Nashville Independent Music Award nominations, Best Rap/Hip-Hop performer and Hip-hop/Rap Artist of the Year (alongside Chancellor Warhol, Starlito and Fluid Outrage).

The beginning of 2014 has shaped up to be a great start to the year. Drupy released his long unreleased Kanye West collaboration, introduced the world to the Fli Gang Collective by releasing the crew’s first single “YSL” featuring G-Side front man ST 2 Lettaz. He performed alongside ATL newcomer ScottyATL for the buding artist Tour and defended his title as the Illest In the Ville alongside artist like Classic Williams and Mello Rello. Also, the final single to be released of the LSD2 project called “WTF” featuring the who’s who of Nashville underground rap scene (Tanya Ali, Chancellor Warhol, Kaby) has been picked up by MTV and launched the artist own VEVO page (drupyflimusikVEVO).With all of these accomplishments and goals set in the last year alone the future looks bright for the fashionable trendsetting artist.

The first piece from the collaboration between the creative director and Fli Musik Group is the artist new website image realignment and single launch ("SoulMate"). The sponsorship with AxVaporizers, also a business associate of Burgess Creative, is the brain-child of Burgess who has plans to cross promote artist music with corporate products and entities. The independent artist also inked a deal w/ The Tara Thomas Agency publicist to Hip-Hop A-listers like Dame Grease and upstarts like K-Camp. Bookings for Drupy Fli Musik are handled by Malcolm

“SoulMate” is produced by RePlay Beats for the Fli Musik Group. The song, strung on a catchy beat with instrumentals in the background, describes the connection between a man, and his life’s soulmate, his lady. This single is the first piece scheduled to launch from DFM’s upcoming project, TIME, which is in collaboration with Beau Burgess, creative director of Burgess Creative. DFM, who’s previously headlined popular Nashville events, such as Y2K, and is a nominee of two Nashville Independent Music Award for Best Rap/Hip-hop performer and Hip-hop/Rap Artist of the Year (alongside Chancellor Warhol, Starlito and Fluid Outrage), is expanding his brand’s reach as an independent artist, through his work with Burgess. In a move to strengthen the artist’s image, Burgess Creative is conceptualizing the design, layout and marketing roll out of his new initiative and website branding realignment. Burgess also connected DFM with a sponsorship from AxVaporizers, one of his
company’s business associates, as part of his plans to cross-promote the artist’s work with corporate
products and entities.

The new website launched on June 23, 2014, featuring the new single for streaming, and a promo trailer providing a sneak peak at the music video. The full video version, totaling four minutes and 18 seconds, and mainly shot in an urban setting, was created by TRVLR for Burgess Creative. In time for the release of his new work, Drupy Fli Musik signed a deal with one of CMOA’s creators, and public relations representative to a slew of Hip-hop A-listers, the Tara Thomas Agency. With all of these accomplishments and goals set for the present and the near future, DFM is definitely on the rise to stardom.
